Terms of Use

1. Purpose

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the LootQuests platform by players: Steam login, participation in Campaigns and Quests, entry into raffles (Giveaways), and earning and redeeming Loot (the platform's internal currency).

2. Eligibility and Legal Capacity

To use LootQuests you must have full legal capacity to enter into contracts under applicable law, or be duly represented or assisted by your legal guardian where required by law. By accepting these Terms, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Steam Account

Access is exclusively via Steam login (OpenID). You are responsible for keeping your Steam account secure — actions taken through it are attributed to you.

4. Loot

Loot is an internal currency with no direct monetary value, redeemable only for items available in the platform store. You earn Loot by unlocking achievements in Campaigns or Quests. Loot is non-refundable and non-transferable between accounts.

5. Purchases and Refunds

Steam Key purchases are processed via Stripe. The price and billing currency (Brazilian Real or US Dollar) depend on the country registered on your account. Once payment is confirmed, the key is delivered by email and made available in your player dashboard; game ownership is then confirmed via the Steam API. A purchase can only be refunded before the key is activated on your Steam account — once activated, the purchase is considered consumed and is no longer refundable by the platform.

6. Quests

Quests are free missions available for games you already own: once you accept a quest, new achievements you unlock start earning Loot within that cycle's budget. Leaving a quest frees the slot for another player; any Loot already earned stays yours.

7. Giveaways

Giveaways are raffles of Steam Keys among players who do not yet own the game, with no purchase or payment required to enter. Eligibility (public profile, minimum account age, minimum Steam level) is checked at the moment of entry and may vary by giveaway. Winners are selected by random draw; the key is revealed only in the winner's player dashboard.

8. Account Suspension and Termination

In addition to the case described in the Mandatory Online Play clause, LootQuests may suspend or terminate an account's access in case of fraud, use of multiple accounts to bypass platform limits, improper payment chargebacks, or any other violation of these Terms. Loot obtained fraudulently is withheld and cannot be redeemed for store items.

9. Intellectual Property; No Affiliation with Valve

The LootQuests brand, platform layout, and its content are owned by LootQuests or its licensors. Games, Steam Keys, achievements, and other third-party assets belong to their respective developers and/or Valve Corporation. LootQuests is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Valve Corporation or Steam; use of your Steam account is also subject to Steam's own terms.

10. Personal Data

LootQuests processes the data required for the platform to function — your Steam account identifier and public profile information, IP address, and purchase and Loot history — in accordance with applicable data protection law (including Brazil's LGPD, Law 13.709/2018, where applicable). This data is not sold to third parties and is used only for authentication, fraud prevention, order fulfillment, and account-related communication. To exercise your rights as a data subject (access, correction, or deletion), contact us through the platform's support channels.

11. Limitation of Liability

LootQuests depends on third-party services (Steam, Stripe) to operate; instability, downtime, or changes in these services may temporarily affect login, purchases, or Loot crediting, without this constituting a breach of these Terms. To the maximum extent permitted by law, LootQuests is not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the platform.

12. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated at any time. Material changes will be announced on the platform, and continued use after a new version is published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the player's domicile, without prejudice to any other consumer protection rights and channels provided by law.

14. Language of These Terms

These Terms are made available in Portuguese and English for players' convenience. In case of any conflict in interpretation, the Portuguese version shall prevail.

Public Profile and "Game Details" on Steam

Your Steam account must have its profile set to Public — without this, login to LootQuests is refused, since this is how we confirm your identity.

Beyond the general profile, the Steam "Game details" privacy setting — which is separate and independent from your profile privacy — must also be set to Public. While it is private, we cannot read your achievements or playtime: Loot from Campaigns and Quests is not credited, demo progress is not recorded, and you cannot enter Giveaways.

How to make it public: on Steam, go to steamcommunity.com/my/edit/settings (or, from your profile, Edit Profile → Privacy Settings) and set both "My profile" and "Game details" to Public. If you set these back to private after you've started using the platform, the features above become unavailable until you make them public again.

Online Play Required

To participate in Campaigns or Quests and earn Loot, you must keep Steam in online mode while playing. Achievements unlocked while offline, or that show patterns inconsistent with real gameplay (such as identical or near-identical timestamps between unlocks, or playtime inconsistent with the volume of achievements unlocked), will have the corresponding Loot zeroed automatically and may result in account suspension.

You may contest this decision by opening a support ticket with evidence (screenshots, screen recordings, or other proof of legitimate play). Appeals are reviewed manually by the platform team; LootQuests' decision is final within the platform's internal review process, without prejudice to the rights the law already guarantees you as a consumer.
